S-206E Toughened Epoxy

S-206 E is two part, cold curing epoxy adhesive in paste form. It is "rubber-toughened" and cures to a flexible film. It has the advantages of:-
* high impact resistance
* high peel strength
* a long pot-life at room temperature after mixing
* self-levelling if heat cured
* resistance to hot hydrocarbon and some phosphate oils
S-206 E will bond a variety of materials, e.g. mild steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, zintec, aluminium and some rigid plastics. S-206 E is particularly useful in the manufacture of filter end-caps where its dual cure-cycle can be exploited either at room temperature to give slump resistance or flash cured (2.5 minutes at 180o C.) to give self-levelling.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Reference should be made to the Material Safety Data Sheet. Ensure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from grease and dust. Adhesion may be improved by abrasion or solvent wipe. Mix equal quantities, by weight or volume, of the two parts and stir thoroughly until an even colour is obtained. Apply to one surface and offer up the second surface, clamp or jig together under light pressure. Put aside, undisturbed, to cure at room temperature, substantial cure being attained within 24 hours, or accelerate the cure with heat. E.g. exposure at 100o C. will result in a 15 to 20 minute cure time.
