S-387E
S-387 E is a two part, cold curing epoxy sealant. It is designed to seal air filters and has the particular feature that it does not “wick” up the filter paper so reducing its efficiency.
S–387 E has a low density and is flame retardant. This is achieved by adding hollow microspheres to the part 1 (resin) and two retardants to the part 2 (hardener).
APPLICATION
S-387 E is used as an end-cap sealant in air filters for the aircraft industry.
INSTRUCTIONS
Reference should be made to the Material Safety Data Sheet.
Thoroughly mix part 1 (resin) with part 2 (hardener) in the ratio of 8:3 for the minimum time required to obtain an even colour. In the case of a dosed set, all part 1 of the set should be mixed with all part 2.
Pour the required amount of mixture into the filter end-cap or mould, insert the filter element and put aside, undisturbed, to cure. The cure time can be reduced by warming.
Use all the mix within its work life.
